A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Finance Team as Assistant Finance Business Partner.
Supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner and other Finance Business Partners, to produce accurate and timely management information, forecasts, analysis, budgets and insights.
Youll ensure that income and expenditure is appropriately monitored, recorded and analysed within the fixed asset system and accounting software and undertaking other accounting routines to support the production of accurate management accounts.

What will you be doing?
Working with the Finance Team you will be:
Deliver high-quality financial planning and analysis, supporting decision-making across YHA with a focus on maintenance and capital expenditure.
Monitor and report on income and expenditure, investigating variances to budget and ensuring accurate financial transactions and reconciliations.
Prepare and present financial data for weekly review meetings with Operations and Property teams, including cost analyses and insights.
Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of additions, disposals, and depreciation.
Support the development of financial reports, KPIs, and dashboards using analytical tools such as BI reporting.
Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support year-end processes, insurance claims, and grant defrayment.
What Skills and Experience do you need?
We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:
A good understanding of accounting principles (AAT studying or similar an advantage)
Good IT skills, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Understanding of the monthly reporting process
Evidence of keeping up to date with relevant legislation and changes to regulations
Ability to interpret and reconcile financial data from a variety of sources
Ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally
Good communication, numeracy and literacy skills
Self-disciplined with the ability to prioritise, organise and deliver work accurately to defined standards and timeframes
Strong attention to detail
High level of accuracy, including when undertaking repetitive tasks
Ability to problem solve
Knowledge of YHA (desirable).
