An Operations Director is being sought to join the NSA Senior Management Team and oversee the effective delivery of the organisation's operational functions.
This senior role reports to the NSA Chief Executive and involves updating the NSA Trustee Directors regularly, participating in major financial, staffing, and delivery decisions. It is a challenging position with diverse responsibilities across key areas of NSA activity.
The primary focus areas include:
* Governance: Collaborating with Trustee Directors to ensure NSA operates professionally within legal frameworks set by Companies House and the Charity Commission.
* Finances: Managing budgets and analyzing financial data to optimize resource use, including understanding NSA investments and property holdings.
* Staffing: Overseeing HR procedures, staff wellbeing, and managing officeholders and contractors.
* Compliance: Ensuring adherence to regulations related to data protection, employment law, and health and safety.
* Site Management: Managing NSA Head Office and the NSA Sheep Centre, including IT infrastructure and tenant relations.
* Connectiveness: Overseeing communications, membership activities, research projects, events, and campaigns to benefit NSA members and the organisation.
We seek a candidate who is passionate about NSA's mission, with leadership skills, strategic insight, and meticulous operational management to support NSA’s goal of representing UK sheep farmers. A dedication to advancing NSA’s development is essential.
The ideal candidate will have senior management experience in a small company or charity, including staff and budget management.

* Communicating complex information to colleagues and directors
Experience in the charity sector or reporting to a Board of trustees is advantageous. A commitment to UK agriculture and an understanding of NSA’s role in the livestock sector are essential. The ability to work primarily from NSA Head Office in Malvern, Worcestershire, is also required.
