JOB TITLE: Design Researcher (12-Month FTC)
LOCATION(S): Leeds / Birmingham / Manchester / Bristol
SALARY: £59,850 - £66,500
HOURS: Full-Time
DURATION: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, with at least two days per week in the office
What you’ll do
* Develop and lead the research strategy for a key area of the business
* Manage the research plan and roadmap for your service or product area
* Deliver research to solve customer problems, unlock new opportunities, and guide what is created
* Work across the product development lifecycle, from generative to evaluative research
* Conduct mixed-methods research and triangulate results to produce robust insights
* Synthesize insights into an actionable narrative to inform design and product decisions
* Communicate and influence wider business stakeholders with clarity and conciseness
* Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams
* Engage with the wider Design Research and Analytics community
What you’ll need
* Experience working with design and product teams to identify and prioritise research questions
* Ability to create research roadmaps and plans with short-term objectives and strategic direction
* Deep qualitative research experience (e.g., usability testing, concept testing, depth interviews)
* Synthesise insights to create a shared understanding of user needs and opportunities
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience combining qualitative and quantitative methods
* Ethnographic experience (e.g., contextual enquiry or diary studies)
* Experience triangulating data from different sources to tell compelling customer stories
* Experience with accessibility research and/or vulnerable customers
* Willingness to share expertise and learn from others
