Overview
Redgate Software is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our platform technology team. As a key player in building the infrastructure platform for our products, you will collaborate with our Solution Group Architect and engineering teams to define and build services that empower engineering teams to create secure, reliable applications. You’ll design, automate, and maintain our build and deployment processes, ensuring efficient and timely software delivery. Your expertise in AWS-based architectures will drive product velocity while ensuring safety, security, and reliability. Over the next year, you’ll help evolve our engineering organisation to embrace a DevOps mindset and enable that change.
Responsibilities
* Work within an engineering team to bridge engineering and operations, empowering the team to confidently release and deploy changes.
* Design, automate, and maintain build and deployment processes; monitor services in production and automate failure handling.
* Implement DevOps practices across Engineering and drive modernisation of the platform.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to improve velocity and automate infrastructure provisioning to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
Qualifications
* Practical experience of DevOps/SRE practices and embedding these within teams.
* Deep knowledge of containers and container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes); experience migrating services/technology with these tools.
* Familiarity with a cloud-first approach.
* Strong experience in build engineering: managing CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting build failures, optimising workflows, and working with version control systems.
* Understanding of how DevOps can support and improve development and operations work.
* Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
* A curious mindset for new technologies and a passion for automation, standardisation, CI/CD.
* Experience provisioning and managing infrastructure to be reliable, scalable, and secure.
* Willingness to work closely with engineering teams to improve velocity; automation as a core habit.
* Ability to work effectively remotely or in an office environment.
What’s the package?
* Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
* Hours: about 40 hours a week, with flexible work time.
