What you’ll be doing
As the Mechanical & Electrical Technician, you will:
* Investigate plant failures and perform repairs efficiently to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents.
* Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees if required.
* Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, VSDs, valves, flow, level, pressure measurement devices, PLCs, variable speed drives, and chemical handling and dosing equipment.
* Complete statutory checks as required.
* Work safely, adhering to all Health and Safety procedures.
Base Location: Maple Lodge - Rickmansworth - WD3 9SQ.
Working Pattern: 36 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities increasing earnings by £8,000 - £10,000 annually upon completing training.
All PPE, tools, van, and fuel card are provided.
What you should bring to the role
* Time-served apprentice with significant electrical systems experience in a multi-skilled capacity.
* Electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering.
* Experience in maintaining, testing, installing, and fault diagnosing electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
* Knowledge of health and safety issues.
* Ability to work in confined spaces with proper training.
* Valid driving license; tools and vehicle provided.
