Job Description
The Role
As a Shift Technician, you’ll be on the front line of maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring systems run safely, efficiently, and without interruption. Working as part of a shift team, you’ll play a key role in uptime and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks
* Monitor and operate critical systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, generators)
* Respond to alarms, faults, and incidents in a timely manner
* Support safe systems of work, including permit-to-work processes
* Assist with isolations and switching (under supervision where required)
* Accurately complete logs, reports, and shift handovers
* Ensure compliance with site procedures and HSE standards
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a data centre or critical environment (preferred but not essential)
* Electrically or mechanically qualified (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of building services systems
* Willingness to work shifts (days/nights)
* Proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
