Role Details
· All offers are subject to passing a safety‑critical medical, a Right to Work check and DBS check.
· Applicants must be 18 or over.
· This role is primarily Monday to Friday – however, you will be required to work flexibly where needed. This will include some weekends and early/late shifts.
· You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure punctual arrival for shift times.
· Salary: £61,000 per annum during the 6‑month probation period, rising to £66,000 upon successful completion.
Greater Anglia is looking for an experienced Group Station Manager to oversee a portfolio of stations across our South Area – based from Shenfield and including all stations to Southend Victoria and Southminster. This is a high-impact senior leadership role, that requires leadership presence.
Reporting to the Head of Stations, South East, as a Group Station Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a group of stations, driving a people first approach linked to customer experience, operational performance and excellent standards.
We are looking for someone with people management and leadership experience, who wants to work in a role that is highly varied in its demands, but people and the experience our customers receive are the core focus of this role. You will need to be organised, dedicated, with a positive and pro-active attitude.

Key Responsibilities
· Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of station management, including performance, cleanliness, facilities, and accessibility.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
· Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels to optimise station performance.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities, emergency services, and community groups.
· Respond proactively to incidents, disruptions, and customer feedback, ensuring swift resolution and communication.
· Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of station management.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential
· Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and develop teams with excellent communication, and organisational skills.
· The ability to problem-solve and a passion for delivering top notch customer service.
· Experience managing budgets, resources, and operational targets.
· Ability to work flexibly, including some weekends and early/late shifts as required.
Desirable
· Experience managing multiple sites or large teams
· Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation

Greater Anglia operates a busy railway network between London Liverpool Street and the east of England. With a team of around 3,000 colleagues, we operate 134 stations throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. Greater Anglia also operate Stansted Express services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.
