SEMH Teaching Assistant – South Shields Location: South Shields Job Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (term-time only) Start Date: September 2025 Salary: £89 - £108 per day (depending on experience) Protocol Education are working in partnership with a specialist provision in South Shields that supports pupils with SEMH needs and associated challenging behaviours. We are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. The Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 7–16 who have been identified as having social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will be supporting pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to help them engage in learning, build positive relationships, and develop strategies to self-regulate their emotions.
