Our engineering clients, based close to Havant, have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to join their growing team.
This role will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse. Responsibilities include managing inventory, ensuring efficient storage and distribution of goods, dispatching goods, supervising warehouse staff, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to implement effective logistics and goods-in processes to support business goals. The Warehouse Manager reports to the Head of Operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Oversee Daily Operations: Manage and coordinate all warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
2. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and ensure accurate records are maintained.
3. Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff to maintain high productivity, accuracy, and morale.
4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure the warehouse operates in accordance with health and safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
5. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with suppliers, transport companies, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
6. Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to optimize warehouse layout, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
7. Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy and quality, resolving discrepancies promptly.
8. Reporting: Prepare and analyze warehouse performance reports, such as inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and staff productivity.
9. Equipment Management: Oversee maintenance and proper use of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and racking systems.
10. Customer Service Support: Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to resolve order issues and meet customer expectations.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Proficiency in IT/ERP/MRP systems (Intermediate Excel, Sage50)
2. Warehouse management experience in a manufacturing environment
