We have an opening for a Refrigeration & Air Condition Engineer to join our team based in Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire. This exciting opportunity will allow you to join an established team, bringing passion, dedication, experience and energy to the business.
We work alongside our clients teams to design and deliver practical, long-term solutions that improve environments, protect processes, and support wellbeing.
In return we will develop your skills, train you and allow you to flourish across our UK & International client base, gaining access turn key/bespoke full project life cycle solutions along with servicing and supporting existing client operations.
Responsibilities
* Installing, maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
* Working with a variety of equipment, from process chillers to large-scale industrial refrigeration systems; air conditioning duties include installation, fault finding, maintenance and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Advising on energy efficiency and system upgrades.
* Installing new refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including layout planning, pipework and component fitting.
* Performing routine checks and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
* Diagnosing and repairing faults in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including replacing parts and components.
* Planning and designing refrigeration and air conditioning systems, possibly involving blueprints and technical drawings.
* Ensuring systems meet performance and safety standards through quality checks and inspections.
* Providing customers with information on system upgrades, energy efficiency improvements and safe operation.
* Handling refrigerants safely and legally, adhering to environmental regulations.
* Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including compliance certificates and maintenance logs.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Technical skills: Knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, preferably chillers and AC/VRV systems, mechanical, electrical and BMS control diagnostics/systems.
* Problem‑solving: Ability to diagnose, fault find and resolve technical issues across refrigerant handling and electrical fault finding.
* Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in installation, maintenance and record‑keeping.
* Communication: Communicating effectively with clients and team members.
* Safety awareness: Understanding and adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
* Physical fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including working in confined spaces and lifting heavy equipment.
Typical Work Environment
* Field‑based: Primarily working on‑site at customer locations across Scotland, UK service of chillers & AC/VRV systems.
* Working as part of a team: Collaboration with other engineers and team members.
* Independent work: Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
* Commercial: Offices, shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
* Industrial: Factories, warehouses and processing plants.
* Data centres: Ensuring the cooling of critical equipment.
