Service Desk Engineer – Babcock International Group
Join us as a Service Desk Engineer at our Babcock Technology Centre in Stoke Gifford, Bristol. This full‑time, permanent position supports mission‑critical software for defence, aerospace and engineering operations, contributing directly to national security and operational excellence.
Role Summary
As a Service Desk Engineer you will work in a fast‑paced 2nd line support environment, resolving customer incidents using ITIL‑compliant processes and keeping service levels high. You will be part of the Major Infrastructure business unit, collaborating with internal stakeholders and customers to deliver outstanding service.
Responsibilities
* Resolve customer issues using ITIL‑compliant processes.
* Prioritise tasks to deliver a positive customer experience.
* Deliver prompt and courteous resolutions within agreed SLAs.
* Investigate and respond to support requests via phone and email.
* Record and communicate progress using service‑management tools.
* Work full time (35 hours per week) on site at Babcock Technology Centre; hours between 7am and 7pm, Monday‑Friday.
Essential Experience
* Technical awareness from supporting software applications.
* Experience using ITSM tools for incident management.
* Oracle or SQL database administration skills.
* Strong analytical and methodical problem‑solving approach.
Qualifications
We value a diverse background. Relevant certifications in ITIL, Oracle or SQL are advantageous but not mandatory.
Security Clearance
