The Role The role of Installation Engineer is to install and commission as necessary, all fire, life safety, and electronic security systems. Duties and responsibilities · Carry out first fix installations on site through to successful commissioning · Achieve all client expectations and to always adhere to statutory regulations · Provide assistance to the service team as and when necessary · Co-ordinate the installation activities to ensure that they are carried out in a controlled manner and in accordance with the Company's documented procedures and processes plus any statutory and regulatory requirements that may apply as directed by the lead install engineer · Assist with commissioning and handover of projects to the client · Ensure adherence to all Company policies - including those for quality, health & safety and the management of false alarms · Assist in the production of O&M documentation and suitably amended as-fitted drawings to allow the Installation Manager to handover the required documentation to the client within agreed time scales at the completion of each Installation · To carry out any other job specific duties as deemed appropriate by the Installation Manager · To take an active role within the continuous improvement of Company systems · Continual assessment of one's system knowledge base to identify improvements required, either by in-house or external training · Continually assess one's effectiveness within the role and discuss any enhancements to the role that would make your contribution more effective · Managing own day to day diary to use time effectively as directed by the lead engineer · Verifying that installed systems meet the requirements of the relevant standards · Collating and recording all system information for inclusion in O&M submissions such as loop loadings, as-wiring information, battery calcs, system schedules, dB levels, device ID's etc · To liaise with other site trades in order to push the project forward No job description can be entirely comprehensive and the jobholder will be expected to adapt and carry out such other duties as may be required from time to time, on the understanding that they will be within the individual's remit and capability, and consistent with the status and responsibilities of the role within the business. Person Specification Essential · Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and complete installation documentation · Have the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers and outside bodies · Display initiative and to have strong attention to detail · To be highly result orientated with a strong drive to deliver/succeed · Good organisational and time management skills · Ability to manage vehicle & stock · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite · To comply with Health & Safety requirements · Hold current CSCS/ ECS card (or equivalent) · Minimum of 3 years previous experience of installation within Fire & Security industry Desirable · Educated to City and Guilds, NVQ3 or relevant experience · IPAF and PASMA License holder or equivalent · Experience with the following systems: Fire Alarms o Gent, Notifier, Advanced, Kentec, CTEC Intruder Systems o Honeywell Galaxy, Orisec, Texecom, Pyronix CCTV o Hikvision, Dahua, Milestone Access Control o Paxton, Net2, Xplan We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. Working conditions The physical environment requires the employee to work in office and at site locations around the southwest including construction sites. Site locations will involve both inside and outside working environments and the employee will be required to use personal protective equipment. The employee may be required to work nights, weekends and on public holidays and may be required to spend time away in order to fulfil the job role.
