The role
Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for Senior/Lead-level experience, with at least 2 years of leadership experience through mentoring others or leading projects. We require deep experience in semiconductor lifecycle work, specifically IC bring-up and pre-tapeout validation. We need strong embedded software and firmware development experience using C. We require practical hands-on experience working at a low level on embedded targets. We need strong bare metal development experience in a pre-RTOS environment. We require familiarity with working directly with hardware, interfaces, and ICs. We would prefer exposure to DSP or similar signal processing concepts. We would prefer experience using Python or similar tools for modelling, simulation, or data analysis. We are looking for someone who can lead from the front, make decisions, and take accountability for delivery and technical outcomes. We require the ability to work onsite 3 days per week in Whiteley, Fareham. Please note that we cannot offer visa sponsorship for this role. Responsibilities: We will have you take technical ownership of a small sub-team while remaining hands-on in engineering delivery. We will rely on you to drive the design, development, and delivery of low-level embedded software and firmware for advanced capacitive sensing products. You will work across the full software lifecycle from concept through to production. You will guide architecture decisions and act as the technical authority for your sub-team. You will oversee delivery, quality, and technical direction for engineering work. You will support engineers day to day through mentoring, guidance, and technical problem-solving. You will develop low-level software on boards in a pre-RTOS environment. You will work closely with hardware, ICs, and interfaces to bring up and validate semiconductor-based products. You will combine firmware development in C with higher-level modelling and algorithm development in Python. You will contribute to a collaborative engineering culture focused on ownership, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
