Job Description Litigation Solicitor (Civil Litigation) Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 DOE Location: Basildon area High-quality caseload and genuine progression Our client is looking to add a capable Litigation Solicitor to a busy, well-regarded team in the Basildon area. The Role You will handle a varied civil litigation caseload, delivering a high standard of client care and helping to develop the department’s offering. Key responsibilities include: Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters from instruction through to resolution Advising clients clearly on strategy, risk, costs, and next steps Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and settlement documentation Negotiating settlements and representing clients where appropriate Supporting business development and helping grow the litigation service line Maintaining excellent file management and ensuring full regulatory compliance (SRA standards) Caseload / Technical Focus The role will suit someone comfortable with general civil litigation, with property litigation / property disputes experience being advantageous. Experience in any of the below is helpful: Landlord and tenant disputes Boundary disputes / rights of way Contractual disputes Debt recovery Contentious probate (desirable, not essential) Requirements (Essential) Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales 2 years’ PQE (guideline, flexibility for the right person) UK practice experience handling civil litigation matters Proven ability to run files independently with appropriate supervision Strong drafting and negotiation skills Excellent organisation, communication, and client care Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office (or similar legal tech) What’s on Offer Alongside a competitive salary, our client offers a package designed to support performance, wellbeing, and long-term development.
