About Our Client
As an Internal Controls Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing internal control frameworks within the industrial and manufacturing industry. This role in Cambridge requires a strong focus on accounting and finance processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Job Description
3. Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures.
4. Strong technical proficiency in SOX, particularly:
5. SOX testing
6. Internal controls testing
7. Working across large, multi-entity environments
8. Experience from Big 4 preferred
9. Background as a qualified accountant who has moved into Internal Audit or Internal Controls preferred.
10. Strong understanding of internal control and risk frameworks.
11. Experience covering end‑to‑end business process controls, ideally across:
12. Order‑to‑Cash
13. Procure‑to‑Pay
14. HR & Payroll
15. Act as the first point of contact for the business when issues arise related to controls.
16. Responsibility for managing process and control self-assessments (CSA), including:
17. Rolling out CSA frameworks
18. Selective control testing across APAC entities
19. Leading, managing, and monitoring testing activity
20. Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
21. Identify and mitigate risks within accounting and finance processes.
22. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address control gaps and implement improvements.
23. Provide training and guidance to staff on internal control practices.
24. Prepare and present reports on internal control assessments to senior management.
25. Support the business in achieving operational efficiency through effective controls.
26. Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards relevant to internal controls.

A successful Internal Controls Manager should have:
27. Strong technical proficiency in SOX
28. Proven experience in developing and implementing internal control frameworks.
29. Knowledge of relevant compliance and regulatory requirements.
30. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
31. Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders effectively.
32. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
