About the Team
Our Consulting Highways teams impact the journeys of millions across the UK, by working in partnership with a range of clients on both major design projects and local network improvements.Our Energy, Lighting and Technology (ELT) practice primarily work across Street Lighting, Technology, Traffic Signals and Electric Vehicle (EV) strategy and designs which also include all elements of Highways Infrastructure including: Structures, Highways, Drainage and Geotech.
Designing infrastructure projects, with high-profile clients, such as National Highways, Transport Scotland and various Local Authorities. Our design projects include the UK’s first carbon neutral road improvement project in Cumbria as well as overhead gantry signage on the M25, improving safety on the A66 with the design and installation of a 42m bridge, M6 Junction 19 improvements whilst ensuring the UK’s Highways network continues to operate.
What you’ll be doing
As an Electrical Engineering Graduate, your overall objective of this role is to ensure the effective delivery and maintenance of infrastructure services across our varied contracts.You will work alongside the team to:
* Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence.
* Prepare design calculations AutoCAD drawings and documents.
* Carry out site visits and inspections.
* Prepare feasibility studies, inspection, assessment, and technical reports ensuring compliance with Amey procedures.
* Keep up to date with industry best practice and apply this within a team environment.
* Developing innovative solutions to enhance delivery of projects.
