Associate Director/ Director - Infrastructure (Civils) Are you a Civil Infrastructure Engineer looking to develop and grow your own team of Civil Engineers? Buro Happold is looking to recruit an individual to head our Manchester office’s Infrastructure discipline. This role will focus on overseeing the technical and financial performance of a diverse range of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in the UK and occasionally internationally.
Our Infrastructure team works on some of the Practice's most interesting and challenging master planning and infrastructure schemes, including regeneration projects like Mayfield, Middlewood Locks, and The Factory, as well as world-class sports stadia such as the Everton Stadium, Manchester Co-Op Arena, and venues worldwide.
Your next role:
* Be part of an exceptional team that embraces technically demanding projects and challenges
* Be at the forefront of industry changes such as reducing embodied carbon and modern infrastructure design methods
Key Duties:
* Managing multidisciplinary project delivery, including transport, water, infrastructure, environment, energy, sustainability, and building engineering inputs
* Developing and maintaining regional work-winning relationships to support future projects, including bid submissions and fee proposals
* Balancing demands and priorities, reviewing civil infrastructure design from project conception to construction, planning resources and finances, and monitoring financial performance
* Managing technical staff, planning workloads, mentoring, and developing team members, and identifying growth opportunities
* Preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and schedules
Your Skills and Experience:
* Successful multidisciplinary project delivery experience, team management, and excellent communication skills
* Experience with transport and mobility projects is advantageous
* Track record of winning work in the North-West region and understanding of the market and collaborators
* Technical background in infrastructure design, leading disciplines like Highways, utilities, or Sustainable Drainage
* Willingness to travel and a commitment to quality improvement
* Membership in a relevant professional institution
Additional experience in highways or water supply networks is welcome.
