Food Solutions Director Henderson Group, one of Northern Irelands most established family businesses, is seeking to appoint a Food Solutions Director. The Group operates well-known retail brands including SPAR, EUROSPAR, ViVO, and ViVOXtra, employing over 5,400 people and generating revenues of £1.4 billion in 2024. Its operations span Wholesale, Retail, Foodservice, and Property. This pivotal role will shape the future of food development across the Group, leading innovation in retail food solutions and creating new opportunities for growth. Reporting to the Managing Directors of Henderson Wholesale and Henderson Retail, the Food Solutions Director will oversee food strategy, own-brand development, quality assurance, and in-store food solutions, while driving diversification into new areas of fresh food. The role The Food Solutions Director will: Lead the development and delivery of food solutions for the Group, with a focus on retail-facing innovations. Drive the creation and management of exclusive Own Brand products. Optimise a balanced range of third-party, Henderson-manufactured, and in-store produced food offerings. Develop a fresh food diversification strategy outside of traditional supermarket retail. Uphold the highest standards of food safety, compliance, and quality. Inspire, lead, and develop the Food Solutions team to reach their full potential. Act as a key partner across the business, engaging with suppliers, retailers, and industry stakeholders. Candidate profile We are seeking an experienced leader from the FMCG or food retail sector with: Significant experience in food development, innovation, and operations. Proven commercial acumen and negotiation skills. A strong track record in leading teams to deliver successful food innovations from concept to launch. Experience influencing stakeholders across complex organisations. Knowledge of food safety and compliance requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
