Overview
This is a full time post working under the direction of the qualified Therapists within the MDT. You will assist the Therapists to assess and deliver therapy and activity within the objectives of the treatment plan. There will also be opportunities to develop skills through the provision of group therapy sessions as well as individually-tailored therapy sessions to service users. You will require excellent communication, time management and organisational skills and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will be supported by experienced Therapists and will receive regular supervision and opportunities for training and professional development.
Responsibilities
* Assist the therapists to plan, design and develop rehabilitation plans and therapy and intervention activities within the objectives of the treatment plan.
* Use specialist technical and creative skills to facilitate the preparation and implementation of AHP occupation/communication focused tools and approaches as a member of the MDT in order to promote recovery, wellbeing and maximise independence.
* Deliver 1:1 and group treatment to patients, monitoring their progress and making minor adaptations as required within sessions.
* Contribute observations of the communication and occupational barriers and strengths of the individuals based on a foundational theoretical knowledge of communication, language and occupation.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to demonstrate a calm and professional approach in challenging situations.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
