The Role: Organic & Onsite Search Lead
As an Organic & Onsite Search Lead, you will be responsible for optimising our website through both the onsite search experience together with managing our organic traffic across external search engines.
You will work to optimise all aspects of the search experience for our audiences across M&G Life, including new to franchise prospects, existing customers, financial professionals together with our expanding international and DB solution offerings.
As a team member of our experience management function, you will collaborate across the digital centre of excellence teams, together with supporting our channel teams who face into our business functions to develop and implement SEO frameworks that enhance visibility and drive leads and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct keyword research and market demand analysis to identify target keywords for content creation and optimisation
* Develop and implement on-page and off-page strategies to improve search engine performance (onsite and external)
* Actively manage content including updating content that impacts usability of search
* Optimise content, meta titles, meta descriptions, and header tags aligned to user intent and user behaviour
* Monitor and analyse search performance using tools like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
* Collaborate with digital leads together with marketing channel teams to ensure search is aligned to user intent
* Stay updated with the latest search trends and algorithm updates to ensure best practices are adopted
* Provide search recommendations and support to the wider business
* Evaluate the quality of backlinks and develop link-building strategies
* Publish key metric dashboards on a frequent basis across the digital channels function, working with the digital performance team to input KPI's to overall dashboards
* Develop and manage core category searches to optimise rankings against customer and adviser needs, to ensure experience proposition remains competitive
Key Skills and Experience:
* Experience across all aspects of organic search strategies covering onsite search and external search experiences
* Strong knowledge of search principles, including technical, on-page optimisation, and off-page optimisation
* Strong proficiency in tools such as Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, Semrush, ElasticSearch
* Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive SEO strategies
* Strong communication skills to educate and promote content change across digital channels
* Strong collaboration skills, working across digital channel teams to ensure search strategies are understood and able to work across teams to deliver performance improvements
