Location: St Asaph with occasional travel to other sites. Reports to: Director of Global Quality. Role: To be a member of the site leadership team taking responsibility for managing the Business Management System across the site whilst ensuring that processes and manufactured products fully comply with and exceed demanding regulatory/customer expectations.
Responsibilities
* Overall responsibility for the Business Management Manual and associated procedures.
* Support implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and enable compliance to relevant procedures.
* Overall responsibility for the Environmental and Health and Safety Management system and associated procedures. First responder for accident investigation.
* Continually evolve best working practices and procedures to deliver ISO9001 and Environmental excellence and certification.
* Manage Quality customer interface to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination.
* Analyse organizational quality metrics and perform managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
* Participate in, and may lead, the auditing of internal Business Management Systems including ownership of the schedule.
* Lead and develop the Quality Assurance and Control structure capable of supporting both the tactical and strategic business plans and initiatives.
* Ensure quality organisation support to the Global Supplier Quality team in the management of new and existing supply chains.
* Identify and drive improvement opportunities across multi-functional teams to continually improve business performance measures.
* Champion root cause analysis and preventative actions.
* Actively support New Product Development activities.
* Provide analysis and regular tracking of issues related to material non-conformance.
* Support the NPD/NPI gate review activities.
* Management of calibrated equipment.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation for audits.
* Report EHS metrics and perform accident investigations to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
* Participate in, and lead, the implementation and management of ISO14001 Systems including ownership of the audit schedule.
* Management of safety equipment and statutory inspections.
Qualifications
* Degree level Engineering qualification preferred but not essential.

Skills And Abilities
* Familiarisation with ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited management systems is essential.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a quality management role working in the aerospace and defence sector.
* Lead or Internal Auditor recognised certification is essential.
* Experience coordinating multi-functional teams in delivering business objectives/initiatives.
* Experience within a safety and environmental management role.
* Knowledge and experience of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, tools, and approaches.
* Demonstrated ability to drive results in Quality and continuous improvement areas.
* Mature customer-focused approach handling issues with urgency.
* Experience in implementing process improvements using structured problem solving methodologies.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
