Job Summary
We require a Generic Therapy Assistant to work as part of the Orthopaedic team within the Therapy Services Department at Rotherham General Hospital. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with patient care on the Orthopaedic wards and providing administrative support to the team. The inpatient department currently serves a 28-bed trauma ward, a 28-bed elective unit, children's ward, fracture clinic, and day surgery. The team comprises Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and support staff. Our goal is to deliver a high-quality, efficient seven-day service to maximize patients' independence and facilitate safe, timely hospital discharge and rehabilitation.
Main Duties
Your primary responsibilities involve assisting with patient care and therapy on the Orthopaedic wards and supporting the team administratively. Applicants should be excellent team players with strong communication skills. You must be physically capable of assisting patients with exercises, mobility, and daily activities. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants can travel independently across the county and have access to a suitable vehicle for work purposes. Adjustments can be considered under the Equality Act 2010 if necessary.
