Job Description:
We are looking for a committed Pupil Support Assistant (Level 2) who is passionate about improving life chances for all children and young people, enabling them to achieve their full potential. As a Pupil Support Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a class teacher or senior staff to support children requiring additional assistance.
You will be required to:
1. Support pupils/children individually, in class, or in small groups in areas of learning and personal development.
2. Contribute information to update planning and review processes for individual pupils/children.
3. Supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication, offering personal care to enable full participation, including toileting, medication administration, and promoting independence.
4. Support support programmes designed by visiting specialists (e.g., speech and language, physiotherapy, occupational therapy).
5. Support pupil/child mobility on an emergency or low-level basis, such as during injuries or medical needs.

Qualification, Registration, and Skill Requirements:
* Good interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team and ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
* Experience supporting young people with additional support needs.
* Obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before confirmation of appointment.
* Register with SSSC within 6 months of employment and complete required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL).
* For Early Learning Centres/Primary and Special Schools: Qualifications such as NC in Early Education and Childcare, SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People), or equivalent, or a commitment to achieve these within the registration period.
* Good IT skills.
Note: The role requires SSSC registration, and the successful applicant has three months to apply for registration after starting. It is advised to begin the registration process promptly to ensure completion within six months.
