Job Overview
This is a field-based, mobile position covering Scotland.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople, preferably with a plumbing bias, to join our growing engineering team.
Our Multi Skilled Technicians provide mobile facilities support services across client sites. The role involves general/fabric maintenance and business support tasks. They report to Regional Operations Supervisors and assist mobile engineers with reactive, planned, and ad hoc maintenance.
Training and up-skilling will be provided as needed to achieve competency in the responsibilities outlined below.
Working hours are generally from 08:00 to 17:00, with some flexibility depending on individual circumstances.
Main Duties
* Perform weekly and monthly planned maintenance tasks (fire alarm tests, water flushing, emergency lighting tests, etc.).
* Record monthly utility meter readings.
* Respond to reactive repairs as the first line of response.
* Re-lamp defective luminaires.
* Carry out minor building fabric repairs and decorating tasks.
* Perform minor plumbing repairs.
* Conduct general office cleaning and maintenance at remote sites.
* Maintain toilet facilities and replenish consumables.
* Assist with external landscaping and cleaning as required.
* Perform ad hoc porterage duties, including furniture moves.
* Maintain accurate documentation of work orders.
* Comply with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
* Complete required documentation, including RAMS and permits.
* Participate in standby rota for emergency calls outside normal hours.
* Be flexible to cover holidays and sickness.
* Assist team members and undertake training to complete tasks outside core skills.
* Provide excellent customer service, keeping occupants informed of work progress.
* Proactively identify and report maintenance or H&S issues.
Health & Safety
* Follow group and company policies at all times.
* Report deficiencies in systems or equipment that may cause failure or safety risks.
* Use work equipment and PPE properly.
* Report issues or training needs to managers or via incident reporting systems.
* Take personal responsibility for health and safety.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in building maintenance, handyperson, or janitorial duties.
* Understanding of health and safety in a building environment.
* Proactive approach to maintenance and management.
* Confident, driven, and proactive.
* Ability to do the job right the first time within deadlines.
* Willingness to undertake further training.
* Ability to plan and communicate work schedules.
* Experience with risk assessments and method statements.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Knowledge of building statutory compliance.
* Full UK driver’s license.
* Accurate record-keeping skills.
* Good communication and team working skills.
* Experience in customer-focused environments.
* Flexible with work hours (subject to EU Working Time Directive).
* Professional appearance, representing the company well.
* Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment according to UK law.
