DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will be responsible for providing peer support services to those in an inpatient setting by serving as an advocate to help consumers regain control over their lives through the recovery process. Work involves collaboration with peer mentors, hospital staff, family, community members, and other advocates to assist consumers in identifying personal recovery goals, determining steps to reach them, and creating an environment of mutual respect, empowerment, and community integration. You will also provide information on public services, educational opportunities, employment, vocational supports, and actively listen and advocate reflectively to recognize strengths and recovery options. Work Schedule and Additional Information
* Full-time employment
* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
* Overtime and emergency call-in may be required
* Telework: This position does not offer telework options
* Salary: Starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes) for new employees

Qualifications
Special Requirements:
* Active certification as a Certified Peer Specialist issued by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB)
Other Requirements:

* Ability to perform essential job functions
Legal Requirements:
* A medical examination is required upon conditional offer of employment
* Position falls under the Older Adult Protective Services Act; requires satisfactory criminal background checks (PA State Police and FBI)
