Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming primary school in B16, Birmingham, to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their on-site Resource Base. This provision supports pupils with EHCPs who require additional structure and specialist input alongside access to mainstream learning where appropriate.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant within the Resource Base, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties and SEMH. Pupils are taught in small groups with a strong emphasis on emotional regulation, social development and personalised learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing small group and occasional 1:1 SEN support within the Resource Base
Supporting pupils to work towards EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent strategies
Supporting access to learning through adapted resources and visual supports
Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
Helping pupils transition between the Resource Base and mainstream classroomsThe School Is Looking For
This role would suit a SEN Teaching Assistant who is calm, patient and confident working with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. Previous experience within a Resource Base, SEN Unit or specialist setting is highly desirable.

Confidence working with small groups and structured routines
