Join the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) as a Rehabilitationist and make a meaningful impact in the lives of cochlear implant and auditory implant users. You will have a unique opportunity to further your career by using your clinical skills within a University setting allowing you to access up-to-date research in this field.
As a Rehabilitationist, you will play a vital role in helping patients adapt to and optimise their auditory implants. Working within a multi‑disciplinary team, you’ll provide specialist rehabilitation, guiding patients through their hearing journey.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored rehabilitation programmes for cochlear and bone conduction implant recipients.
* Assess patient progress and adjust therapy strategies accordingly.
* Provide education and support to patients, families and caregivers.
* Collaborate with audiologists, rehabilitationists and other professionals to enhance outcomes.
* Contribute to research and teaching opportunities within the university setting.
* Perform additional duties as required by the service.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in rehabilitation for individuals with auditory implants or hearing loss (training will be provided).
* HCPC or RCSLT or equivalent professional registration.
* Strong communication skills and a patient‑focused approach.
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience with clinical assessment and outcome evaluation.
