Join HC‑One as a Kitchen Assistant. We are looking for compassionate, detail‑oriented individuals who can help prepare and serve nutritious meals for our residents.
About the Role
In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC‑One, you’ll value kindness above all. Your work supports our residents in the Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. You’ll help prepare and serve well‑balanced meals that meet individualized dietary needs.
Responsibilities
* Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
* Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
* Monitor and record food storage temperatures (fridge, freezer, etc.).
* Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are properly stored.
* Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
* Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless, even after a busy lunch rush.
Qualifications
* Some kitchen experience and a passion for helping others.
* NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to work towards it.
* Strong organisational skills, keen eye for detail, and ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
* Patience, respect, and genuine kindness in every interaction with residents or co‑workers.
* Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and ability to recognise signs of abuse or neglect.
