About The Role
In your role as the Estates/Maintenance Operative, you will be expected to uphold the Company’s aims and objectives in ensuring that the property and associated grounds are kept in a safe, well-maintained, and compliant manner at all times. You must work to the Company Policies and Procedures, carrying out all aspects of your role competently and safely at all sites you are engaged with or as directed by the relevant Property Services Officer.
This role requires travel around six services in West Wales to complete compliance checks and undertake minor works. Mileage can be claimed back. This position is for 30 hours per week.
Main responsibilities
* To ensure the site always remains a safe, secure, and pleasant environment to work, reside, or visit.
* To ensure that all critical systems and services such as drainage, water, lighting, heating, fire, and related alarm systems are functioning appropriately.
* To work in conjunction with / alongside the Registered Service Manager, Senior Management representatives, and Authorities in maintaining a well-planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance regime.
About you
* You will have demonstrable competence in one or more of the following trades: joinery, decoration, plumbing, and have spent at least 2 years in a similar maintenance-based role.
* You will have a sound understanding of the principal requirements of Health & Safety and Fire Safety, able to learn how they apply to a Residential Care setting, coupled with awareness and understanding of Fire Risk Assessments & Water Hygiene Service Risk Assessments.
* You will have experience of lone working and the ability to work on allocated tasks with minimal supervision, supported by good Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Word skills.
* Able to undertake general gardening duties including mowing grassed areas, tending to plant areas, and cutting back shrubbery & bushes/hedges.

About The Service
We provide person-centred support to people 24 hours a day. This may be within a community-based residential home or the individual's own home.
