Customer Delivery Driver – Salford Extra
Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location
We provide new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you prefer fewer hours (minimum 12) we are happy to discuss flexible arrangements.
Availability Window
* Wednesday: 19:00 – 23:00
* Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
* Saturday: 07:00 – 19:00
Responsibilities
* Ensure the van and trays used are clean and tidy.
* Leave the back yard clean, tidy, and clear of rubbish; pick up litter as seen.
* Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van as required and check it for roadworthiness.
* Communicate with customers about any changes to their order, including short‑code items and substitutions, and offer refunds for any issues.
* Take care of products and deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explain to customers that they will not be charged for substitutions.
* Deliver during the customer’s specified time slot.
* Call the customer before arrival if arriving early.
* Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
Requirements
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support stores in serving customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand customers and say "Thank you."
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within your store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to achieve a suitable balance.
* Share ideas with your Manager and other colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.
* Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
