My client, based in Sheffield (South Yorkshire) is an ambitious Manufacturing/Precision Engineering SME, t/o currently c £10m with an expanding Blue Chip client base. The MD is keen to attract an experienced (Part-time/Fractional) FD with strong Manufacturing/Engineering sector experience to operate as his "finance business partner" to support the company's profitable growth strategy. This will be a permanent role from Day 1 on a 2-3 day/week basis (which may potentially increase over time in line with the ongoing growth of the business), so would for example suit a Portfolio/Fractional FD to supplement another current part-time business engagement or someone specifically looking for 1 ongoing part-time FD role.. Reporting directly to the MD, the hands-on brief will include: Working closely with the MD and other Board members to manage the business and ensure its sustainable profitable growth. Head up and develop a small cohesive Finance team, including an experienced full-time AAT qualified accountant to oversee the consistent delivery of accurate and timely financial/management/statutory accounts. Develop bottom-up Budgets and regular Forecasts. Work closely with the Production Director to develop Manufacturing KPI's to maintain a keen focus on Factory efficiencies and Stock inventory levels, operating in a fairly complex Precision Engineering on-site environment. Review Client Contracts and support new business Tenders. Manage all key professional stakeholder relationships - Bank, Funders, Auditors etc. As stated, the successful candidate will be an experienced hands-on qualified accountant with strong SME Production site-based Manufacturing/Engineering sector experience, now seeking a part-time FD role and able to commit 2-3 days/week ongoing. The salary indicator will be pro rata c £100k Bonus/Benefits to be paid monthly on the company payroll ie to be clear, my client is NOT looking for a Ltd co Contractor who charges on a professional day rate basis. Interviews to be held ASAP for start date by early December.
