DSJ Bespoke is a specialist joinery, fit-out, and main contracting business delivering projects across the super-prime residential, retail, hospitality, and commercial sectors. We combine high-end craftsmanship with full project delivery from early design development through manufacture, installation, and on-site completion. Our work ranges from luxury private residential schemes to high-profile retail and hospitality refurbishments, all delivered with a focus on quality, detail, and seamless coordination. With both in-house joinery production and main contractor capability, we manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring precision, control, and a consistently high standard of finish across everything we do.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated final year student or graduate to begin their career as an Assistant Project Manager/Quantity Surveyor, working across both project management and commercial functions. You\'ll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle while developing the commercial, technical, and delivery skills essential for a successful career in construction project management. Duties include:
Responsibilities
* Commercial/Quantity Surveying
o Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans
o Tracking expenditure against budgets and reporting financial performance
o Supporting procurement and managing subcontractor/supplier packages
o Analysing and comparing quotations
o Assisting in managing variations and cost changes
o Supporting valuations and financial reporting
* Project Management
o Helping coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
o Monitoring project progress against programme
o Maintaining project documentation and reporting systems (Softools)
o Attending site visits and client/project meetings
o Supporting delivery from pre-construction through to handover
* Systems & Reporting
o Using internal systems to track costs, programme, risks, tasks, and workflows
o Contributing to process improvements and reporting structures
Person specification
* Graduate or final year student in a related discipline e.g. Quantity Surveying, Construction Management
* Clear, professional written communication (emails, reports, meeting notes)
* Confident when speaking with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams
* Able to present information logically
* Strong listening skills and ability to ask the right questions
* Strong Excel skills (formulas, data structuring, cost tracking) and competent in Word, Outlook, and Teams
* Comfortable learning new digital systems (e.g., Softools)
* Able to manage digital files and data effectively
* Understanding of costs, revenue, profit, and margin and the ability to interpret cost plans, quotes, and spend vs budget reports
* Awareness of procurement impacts on overall cost
* High numerical accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent attention to detail
* Organised, methodical, and structured
* Commercially aware with an interest in business decision-making
* Proactive and willing to take ownership
