RPS is looking for Experienced and Trainee Leakage Engineers to join our Water Operations Division in Wales. Roles are currently available in West Wales. Our team of Leakage Engineers is central to our strategic priorities – delivering excellent work for our clients through exceptional customer service and executing complex operational tasks. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:30, with overtime, bonuses, benefits, and a real living wage. A company van will also be provided.

What you’ll be doing
This role is an excellent entry point into the water industry, with full training and mentorship. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will help reduce leakage by resolving operational issues, including detecting leaks on our clients’ networks using various methods:
* Assessing, diagnosing, and selecting solutions to reduce leakage, supporting regulatory targets, and pinpointing leaks accurately to provide excellent client service
* Maintaining Health and Safety standards
* Achieving KPI targets and reducing leakage within DMA zones
* Attending excavations to assist leak location
* Training and mentoring assistant leakage technicians
* Handling administrative tasks, electronic timesheets, weekly vehicle checks, and defect reporting
* Building strong relationships with colleagues, contractors, and clients
Who we’re looking for
* Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but we will train you in water network hydraulics, leakage detection, monitoring/reporting, and related areas
* Willingness to learn utility tracing, noise logging, step-testing, and data capture techniques
* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards
* A team player with problem-solving skills, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills
* Ability to report findings quickly and accurately
* Full UK or Irish driving license
