We are now recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to join our team at our purpose-built, one million sq. ft. facility in Amesbury, where you’ll be at the heart of a high-volume, technology-driven operation. Logistics within retail is fast-paced and demanding, with our Distribution Centre teams playing a vital role in delivering on-time and in-full to our network of Home Bargains stores across the UK. As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will lead and develop your team of Section Managers to consistently deliver against safety standards, warehouse performance objectives, and operational targets. You will prioritise workload effectively to ensure our stores receive the right products at the right time. Working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will contribute to both short-term planning and long-term operational strategy, helping to drive continuous improvement across the site. Package Salary & Hours £51,714 - £62,665 per annum depending on experience. 40 hours per week worked over any 5 days from 7. PM Shift - 13:30 - 22:00 hrs Employee Benefits Full-time employees receive 28 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing to 33 days after 5 years of service. Customer & Operational Delivery Ensure our stores receive the right products at the right time by prioritising workload and maintaining a strong focus on on-time, in-full delivery. Performance Management & KPIs Set clear objectives and KPIs, regularly reviewing performance and driving continuous improvement across your team. People Development & Capability Develop Section Managers through structured development plans, ensuring your team has the skills and training to meet performance, safety, and quality standards. Resource Planning & Workforce Alignment Align resources to deliver operational plans, ensuring effective workforce planning and recruitment to support business needs. Health, Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with all H&S processes, procedures, and training requirements through regular monitoring and action. Communication, Problem Solving & Collaboration Engage your team through effective communication, proactively resolve challenges, and collaborate with stakeholders to support planning and continuous improvement. Minimum Criteria To Apply Extensive experience working in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment Proven experience leading and developing managers within a high-volume operation Strong knowledge and experience of warehousing H&S regulations, compliance, and auditing processes Experience managing change, including delivering business improvement initiatives Experience working within a unionised environment Proven ability to drive efficiency and continuous improvement across warehouse operations Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills Effective problem-solving and decision-making capability Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture About The Company TJ Morris Limited trading as Home Bargains is a privately owned family run discount retailer selling top brands at the lowest possible price on the UK high street.
