The Research and Innovation Centre at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre has an exciting vacancy for a Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse. The primary aim of this role is to improve access to research, providing a unique framework to enhance the delivery of world-class research.
The successful candidate will undergo dual training in both Oncology and Haematology systemic anticancer treatments, demonstrating motivation and willingness to learn in these fields.
As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will support the Advanced Research Nurse and Lead for the Early Phase and ECMC portfolio, ensuring that service users' needs are met through high-quality care. The centre promotes a person-centered approach to support independence and well-being.
You will be based at CCC Wirral and CCC Liverpool, with responsibilities across sector hubs and clinics in Wirral and Liverpool, including cross-cover during and after training.
Main Duties
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside the research team to coordinate a portfolio of cancer clinical trials, including commercial and non-commercial studies.
Responsibilities include identifying patients, collecting data, supporting complex cancer treatments, and monitoring patients in accordance with protocols. The environment is busy, requiring the ability to work under pressure, pay attention to detail, and organize workload effectively. Individual training will be provided to meet your needs.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* NMC Level One registration or equivalent
* Graduate qualification or working towards one
* Continuous professional development
* Training in chemotherapy within oncology or haematology, or willingness to undertake training
* Qualifications in oncology and/or clinical research
Knowledge
* Experience managing complex relationships
* Understanding of clinical research purpose
* Knowledge of NHS legislation in cancer and palliative care
* Knowledge of ICH GCP
Experience
* Autonomous working and team collaboration
* Working with other agencies
* Experience in oncology/haematology nursing or research
