This is an exciting opportunity to join NRW's Land Regulatory Approaches team as a Senior Advisor. The role involves developing and improving NRW's agricultural regulatory activities. You will support the team lead and work with Policy and Operations teams to enhance regulatory capabilities. Responsibilities include developing guidance, drafting briefing notes, advising the Welsh Government, and delivering training. The role may also involve collaboration with external organizations and regulators.
We seek a confident individual with experience or understanding of the agricultural industry, regulatory processes, and NRW's procedures. The candidate should be comfortable working at pace, managing multiple priorities, and willing to learn. Key Responsibilities:
1. Be the main contact for UK and Welsh trade associations, government departments, and regulators to share information and develop policies.
2. Maintain knowledge of sector-specific legislation, technology, and market changes.
3. Support staff training by applying legislative and regulatory expertise.
4. Lead and manage complex projects to ensure staff understand and apply regulations effectively.
5. Contribute to team and corporate plans.
6. Mentor and coach advisors to build technical resilience.
7. Advise on evidence needs, manage evidence projects, and design monitoring frameworks.
8. Undertake health and safety duties.
9. Promote NRW’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policies.
10. Engage in personal development activities.
11. Perform other duties as required.
Skills and Experience (STAR method):

Welsh Language Requirement:

This role is within the Land Regulatory Approaches Team, part of the EPP directorate, focusing on guidance and training in Agriculture, Forestry, Biodiversity, and EPR.
