An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-focused Disrepair Case Officer to join a dedicated Housing Services team. This role is key to managing and resolving disrepair cases efficiently, ensuring legal compliance and protecting housing stock from risk and escalating costs.
The Role:
As a Disrepair Case Officer, you will take ownership of disrepair cases from the earliest stage through to resolution. Working closely with surveyors, legal teams, contractors, and residents, you will coordinate the necessary actions to ensure cases are addressed swiftly and effectively. This role requires strong organisational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Minimise the risk and cost of disrepair claims through proactive case management.
✅ Liaise with surveyors to ensure works are specified, ordered, and completed to standard.
✅ Manage progress on cases, providing timely updates and monitoring costs.
✅ Prepare documentation and liaise with legal teams to ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
✅ Support responses to complex complaints, Ombudsman cases, and litigation threats.
✅ Represent the organisation in court proceedings where necessary.
About You:
✔ Strong understanding of housing repairs, legislation, and complaints procedures.
✔ Experience managing contractors, consultants, and multiple stakeholders.
✔ Skilled at resolving complaints and complex correspondence.
✔ Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
✔ Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to tight deadlines.
