Associate Scientist – Antibody Validation
Our role contributes to Abcam’s Antibody Product Portfolio expansion by validating and characterizing new antibodies. The position reports to the Team Leader Immunocytochemistry and Flow Cytometry and is part of the Validation Team located in Cambridge. This is an on-site role.
Responsibilities
* Designing and executing immunoassays
* Imaging using manual and automated fluorescence microscopy (confocal Leica SP8, Operetta high-content analyzer - HCA)
* Develop and optimize assay protocols, improving validation, optimization and documentation to integrate new assay protocols into standard work streams
* Actively seek to improve testing conditions for individual antibody products and product groups to best demonstrate their performance
Qualifications (Essential)
* PhD in a life sciences field or an MSc with multiple years of industry experience
* Experience using antibodies for immunocytochemistry, with a firm understanding of the principles, literature and methods of at least one of these techniques
* Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines
* Ability to facilitate open and constructive communication within the team and across other global teams
Preferred
* Flow cytometry experience
* Immunology background
