Job Description
We're currently partnering with a Housing Association who are looking for 2 x Interim Contract Surveyors to carry out inspections and manage end to end health and safety initiatives.
Details:
* Role: Surveyor
* Contract Length: 3 months
* Location: London, Hybrid.
* Day Rate: £250-300 per day
* IR35: Pending Determination, expected Outside.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
* Property Inspections: Carry out pre- and post-work inspections on social housing, including void properties, to identify repairs and improvements.
* Surveying & Specifications: Create detailed technical specifications, schedules of work, and contract documentation for maintenance or capital projects.
* Contractor Management: Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to KPIs, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
* Financial Control: Oversee project budgets, approve valuations, and manage final accounts to ensure value for money.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure all works comply with building regulations, health & safety standards, and statutory requirements (e.g., gas safety, asbestos).
* Tenant Liaison: Manage tenant expectations, address complaints, and communicate effectively regarding maintenance works.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience: Previous experience in social housing surveying or property maintenance.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building defects, repairs diagnostics, and construction techniques.
* Relevant building surveying qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree or RICS chartered/associate) are a big plus.
* Strong competence in asset management systems, PDA devices, and MS Office.
* Strong negotiation, project management, and report-writing skills.
* Full driving license with access to a vehicle is a huge advantage.

* Meeting KPIs related to budget management, repair quality, and resident satisfaction.
* Effective management of contractor performance data and health & safety compliance.
