Job Description Summary The Goods Inwards Team Coach is responsible for leading and supporting the Goods Inwards team to ensure efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and processing of incoming goods. The role emphasizes the application of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) principles in all aspects of operations, with safety as the top priority. The Team Coach will advocate for the use of the 10 core principles of FLIGHT DECK to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role requires a hands-on approach, with a 70/30 split between task execution (70%) and coaching (30%), ensuring alignment with customer requirements and business goals. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Apply Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) principles in all aspects of the role, prioritizing safety above all else. Ensure the team understands and adheres to SQDC principles in their daily tasks and decision-making Goods Receipt: Receive, verify, process, and receipt goods into the business system. Quality Management: Process goods through the Quality database (QMS) and ensure compliance with QMS procedures. Documentation: Record and scan supplier Certificates of Conformance (C of C) and packing slips. Non-Conformance Management: Identify, manage, and escalate non-conformances as required. Communication and Escalation: Address queries and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel. Priority Management: Maintain awareness of priorities and manage tasks accordingly. Document Control: Ensure proper handling and compliance with QMS procedures for all documentation. Inventory Management: Track, control, and manage stock, ensuring traceability and accurate business system transactions. Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse to ensure safety and efficiency. Stock Disposition: Manage stock disposition and ensure proper housekeeping practices. Promote the 10 core principles of FLIGHT DECK at every opportunity to drive lean practices and continuous improvement. Encourage the team to embrace FLIGHT DECK methodologies to enhance efficiency and performance. Support other areas within the CH20 building, including Stores, Receiving, or Packing, as needed due to workload, holidays, or illness. Cover deliveries and scanning to ensure accurate and timely processing of incoming goods. Support Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes, including handling and processing returned goods. Work alongside the warehouse team to support day-to-day operations and meet customer requirements. Maintain a 70/30 split between performing tasks (70%) and coaching the team (30%). Empower the team to set goals aligned with business objectives. Coach team members on holding themselves accountable for achieving their goals. Collaborate with teams to establish clear boundaries and increasing levels of authority. Work with other team coaches to share best practices, resources, and build bridges between teams. Present Metrics: Prepare and present metrics and performance data in front of teams and larger groups. Daily CCC and BUCC Participation: Lead daily CCC (Cell Control Center) meetings and attend BUCC (Business Unit Control Center) meetings to ensure alignment with business goals and priorities. Provide the team with tools and resources to improve processes and meet or exceed customer requirements. Support process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns, and minimize manufacturing losses. Facilitate challenging situations within the team and help the team recognize when issues require escalation beyond their scope. Work with employees to resolve concerns and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies, involving the team facilitator when necessary. Partner with the team to schedule resources, provide technical leadership, and manage the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements. Assist other coaches in decision-making related to process improvement, production, and resource allocation (manpower, machines, methods). Perform administrative tasks to support the business, including holiday planning, overtime review and recommendations, EHS checks, and quality requirements. Coordinate first-line activities (e.g., methods, production control) to ensure production schedules, customer satisfaction, cost goals, and quality standards are met. Encourage the team to achieve the highest safety standards in the plant. Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with EHS protocols. Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling issues, taking corrective measures to minimize downtime and schedule interruptions. Experience: Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain environment, preferably in a leadership or coaching role. Familiarity with goods receipt processes, inventory management systems, and quality control procedures. Skills: Leadership and Coaching: Strong abilities to lead and develop teams. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present metrics and performance data to teams and larger groups. Lean Principles: Knowledge of lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices, including FLIGHT DECK principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work). Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements.
