Purpose
:
To provide strategic financial leadership and insight partnering across Commercial operations, ensuring robust P&L management, accurate reporting, and informed decision-making that drives growth and profitability.
The Role:
1. Lead the financial management of all Partnerships, Tour, and other Commercial departmental P&Ls, collaborating closely with business leaders to provide transparent reporting and actionable insights that inform key decisions.
2. Oversee the full financial cycle, including month-end close, weekly re-forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-term strategic planning, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout the process.
3. Partner with Commercial leadership and cross-functional teams to drive strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
4. Provide expert financial support for both short-term initiatives and long-term projects, including capital expenditure planning, advising stakeholders on financial implications and opportunities.
5. Own the Contracted Income and Commission Bonus process, partnering with relevant teams to ensure accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery.
6. Prepare and manage year-end Commercial accounts, acting as the key point of contact with external auditors and internal teams to ensure smooth, compliant audits.
7. Ensure strict compliance with Retail SOx requirements and maintain robust internal controls, working with stakeholders to embed strong financial governance across commercial operations.
8. Own the annual Commission Bonus process, partnering with relevant teams to ensure accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery.
9. Lead ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed by the Head of Finance – Commercial & Retail, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to deliver impactful outcomes.
The Person:
10. Higher education and qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with PQE
11. Expertise across management accounts in a Digital environment to drive strong links across the finance function
12. Strong excel skills; PowerBI experience preferred
13. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
14. High level of commercial awareness
15. Effective and confident communicator (written and verbal) who is comfortable liaising with various departments and external stakeholders
16. Ability to build positive relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues quickly
17. Collaborative – effective at leading projects and working cross functionally
18. Not afraid to challenge the status quo
19. Proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to work independently
20. Skilled at prioritising tasks and identifying opportunities and risks
21. Strong work ethic with a positive energetic can-do attitude
22. Calm and measured when working under pressure and to tight deadlines
23. Flexible and adaptable – has the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
24. Sports club experience preferred but not essential
