Position Description: FlexGen is seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for ensuring the integrity of our accounting information by recording, analyzing, and reconciling transactions and GL balances, mainly for income statement accounts. This individual will be responsible for creating and delivering financial information as requested on a periodic basis. The accountant will perform various monthly and yearly closing activities, accuracy verification, account reconciliation, and earnings analysis. The right person will have the ability to analyze financial information, prepare financial statements, and provide required analysis so that management has accurate and timely information for making decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other analytics. Major Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the monthly EAC process, including development and creation of files, ensuring data accuracy, and reviewing completed files. Responsible for the preparation of revenue files, related account reconciliations, project level P&L’s, and various analyses. Responsible for assigned monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes including balance sheet reconciliation and journal entries Responsible for reviewing income statement accounts for accuracy Lead in the analysis of project budget to actual reporting Support yearly audit Support in the creation and definition of internal financial controls, including SOX-level as needed Support with technical accounting activities, projects, and policy as directed Support accounting group and collaborate closely with the Director of Financial Systems to implement process improvements via automation and workflows to achieve a 10-day close schedule Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting Minimum 3-4 years related experience & ASC 606 experience required CPA Preferred Preferred experience at Big 4 accounting firm Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (specifically related to ASC 606) Experience creating and developing internal controls Detail oriented with a willingness to independently investigate issues & discrepancies Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving, analytical and time management skills Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment Ability to quickly learn and improve multiple processes Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Knowledge of ERP systems, NetSuite is a plus Highly proficient in MS Office applications FlexGen provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
