The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to shape future Power Electronics and Control Solutions within the Research & Development at Edwards, part of the Atlas Copco Group. The role reports to the Technology Manager for Motors and Drives, within the Software, Electronics and Motors Technology Team.
You will work in a dynamic team to develop innovative power circuits for motor drives and electrical power applications, focusing on technologies related to control of electrical power in the 30W to 30kW range.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop innovative solutions to complex problems, improving quality, reliability, performance, and cost.
* Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software engineers on technology projects.
* Contribute to the Technology Roadmap with projects involving electromagnetics, sensors, power electronics, embedded software, and more.
* Expand knowledge of components, circuits, standards, and IP used across various industries.
* Document and communicate work throughout the development lifecycle, including designs, test results, and reports.
What We Expect From You
Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical/electronic engineering or STEM field.
At least 3 years of hands-on electronics design and development experience, preferably in industrial R&D.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with schematic capture, circuit and system simulation tools.
* Knowledge of control systems, thermal management, power electronics, and analogue/digital electronics.
* Familiarity with electrical safety and EMC standards, test equipment, and specification preparation.
Additional Knowledge Beneficial
* Electromagnetic design, motor control, embedded software, PCB layout.
