About The Role
In your role as a Painter & Decorator at HC-One, you will undertake painting and decorating duties to present the homes to the highest standards, helping HC-One become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment to meet the needs of Residents and Colleagues. Flexibility and responsiveness are essential as the needs of the Homes change.
You will report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident involving a Resident, Colleague, yourself, or others. You must understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Home’s Health and Safety policies, including Emergency and Fire procedures.
This full-time position covers multiple care homes, so you must be able to drive; a shared company vehicle will be provided.
We are looking for someone with effective engagement and communication skills with Residents, the Home Manager, and colleagues. Your duties include general painting and decorating throughout the Care Home, such as making good any damage, wallpapering, painting walls, ceilings, fixtures, and fittings. You will ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained and adhere to health and safety policies. You will also complete mandatory and role-specific training as required to maintain your professional knowledge.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to report concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
We’ll provide full training, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will enjoy a variety of benefits supporting your well-being and career development, including:
* Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Free uniform
* Nutritious meals during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
* Group life assurance cover
* Wagestream - flexible access to pay and financial wellbeing support
* Learning and development opportunities, including support to achieve qualifications
* GP online service for round-the-clock consultations, available to you and your children under 16
* Learning from experienced colleagues within a supportive team
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street retailers
* Free access to an Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support
* Recognition schemes like ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards
