Learning Support Assistant - Year 5 | Lewisham | ASD & Behaviour Support
Reeson Education is working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Lewisham that is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with Autism and challenging behaviour. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2025.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 5 with ASD and behavioural needs
Implementing structured routines and behaviour management strategies
Supporting the pupil with engagement, focus, and emotional regulation
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and outside professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience supporting children with ASD and behaviour difficulties
Calm, resilient, and confident with a proactive mindset
Skilled at building trust and positive relationships
Knowledge of behaviour strategies such as Zones of Regulation, reward charts, or de-escalation techniques
Committed to inclusion and making a difference in a child's school life
