An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Epilepsy Service. We are seeking a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to manage patients with Epilepsy and related symptoms. Under the supervision of a Band 7, you should have significant relevant experience in Neurology and possess the skills to perform technical, invasive, physical, and psychosocial aspects of care for this patient group. Neurology experience is advantageous but not essential. You will work within a clinical team led by the Lead Nurse and supervised by the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, providing interdisciplinary, safe, and effective care for people with Epilepsy. Responsibilities include pre-treatment counselling, therapy monitoring, urgent interventions, and admission avoidance consultations. You must be able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, and manage telephone advice lines, triage calls, interface with hospital clinicians and GPs, and deliver clinical support with high ITC skills. This role aims to facilitate service improvements to enhance patient outcomes and ensure person-centered care.
The post hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Applicants must be registered adult nurses with the NMC and have significant post-registration experience, ideally at least 5 years.
