Senior Transport Planner – London
Responsibilities
* Undertake Transport Statements, Assessments and Travel Plans to support planning applications for various private sector clients; Design project management, co‑ordination with other disciplines/offices, client liaison, fee proposals and invoicing.
* Be proficient in undertaking junction capacity assessments using industry standard software including JUNCTIONS and LINSIG.
* Experience in the use of AutoCAD and preliminary highway design is desirable but not essential.
* Good organisation, communication and presentation skills, with a high standard of attention to detail and personal work ethic.
* Be willing and able to mentor junior staff in their training and development.
* Experience producing Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments and Travel Plans.
* Understanding of relevant local and national transport policy and guidance.
* Liaise with clients, colleagues and statutory bodies including Planning Authorities and Highway Authorities to ensure efficient progress with project commissions.
* Help to deliver excellent customer service.
* Follow a continued professional development/programme of training.
Qualifications
* A minimum qualification of a degree or equivalent – ideally in Geography, Environmental Management or Transport Planning.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint specifically) and have strong analytical skills.
* Either have or are working towards professional membership with CIHT.
* Organised and methodical with a keen eye for quality and the ability to solve problems effectively.
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team, and have the necessary skills and experience to work under pressure to deadlines and budgets.
* Self‑motivated with a positive attitude, pro‑active approach and desire to develop a career in the field of Transportation, with development support.
* Experience using AutoCAD and Transport Software (e.g. JUNCTIONS, LINSIG, TRICS).
