GL20 8TD Job Purpose: We require a Technical Estimator with strong AV technical expertise and commercial awareness. The primary responsibility is to produce accurate, detailed quotations for high-value and complex projects, ensuring profitability and alignment with client expectations. The role is crucial in supporting the sales team with technical scoping, providing pricing clarity, and ensuring seamless handover into operations. The Technical Estimator will also help develop internal quoting processes and support system optimisation. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: • Producing detailed, accurate, and timely quotations for bespoke and contractual AV projects, considering equipment, crew, logistics, and commercial objectives. • Supporting the sales team in early-stage project scoping for high-value/complex projects, offering technical expertise to align solutions with client briefs. • Attending technical briefings and client meetings where required to clarify scope, upsell alternatives, and support the conversion of opportunities. • Offering tiered or flexible pricing models to suit client budgets and encourage upselling, where appropriate. • Assisting in the preparation of tender responses, including technical summaries, kit justifications, and alternative solutions. • Supporting the transition of confirmed quotes into operational delivery, providing clear documentation including drawings, timelines, and scope details. • Participating in project debriefs to understand discrepancies between estimated and actual costs, feeding insight into improved future quoting. • Taking ownership of the InspHire quoting system, maintaining clean data, improving templates, and ensuring team-wide adoption of best practice. • Delivering regular knowledge-sharing sessions to the sales team on new technologies, kit capabilities, and quoting logic. • Staying up to date with AV industry trends, new product launches, and supplier developments to inform accurate pricing and proposal quality.
