Supporting one service user within a single-occupancy home Were looking for a Female Deputy Manager to join an established and developing service in Birmingham.
This role involves deputising for one service user in a single-occupancy setting (not a multi-occupancy site) and managing a team of 10 permanent staff within a dedicated female staffing team.

What we need from you as a Deputy Manager : Proven experience working as a Deputy Manager/Supervisor or Team Leader in supported living, mental health, or learning disabilities, with a strong understanding of the needs of individuals with complex needs Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively Must have experience in challenging behaviours Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, service users, and external agencies Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and maintain accurate records Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines, including CQC/BCC standards Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures Proficiency in relevant digital tools and systems used for record-keeping and communication Experience in complex behavioural care settings A genuine understanding and empathy for the needs of individuals with mental health and learning disabilities An understanding of the importance of promoting equality and diversity within the workplace Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent, or a willingness to pursue further qualifications What the role involves: Reporting to the Registered Manager you will assist in the overall management of the service, including staffing, administration, and quality assurance.
Duties include: Ensuring Quality Care: Overseeing the delivery of person-centred care, implementing, and reviewing care plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations Staff Management: Supervising, mentoring, and training support workers, ensuring a positive and supportive work environment Risk Management: Conducting risk assessments and ensuring the safety and well-being of service users and staff Promoting Positive Culture: Fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment within the service Leading Shifts: Taking charge of daily operations, particularly in the absence of senior managers Rota Management: Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and efficient scheduling Quality Control: Conducting audits and assessments to maintain high standards of care Staff Development : Providing training, guidance, and support to the care team Crisis Management: Addressing and resolving issues related to safeguarding and emergency situations Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of all care activities and service user information Salary: £29,400 per year.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am 5pm.
Willingness to work the floor and cover shift where needed staff sickness, annual leave etc Minimum of 24 hours on the floor, 13.5 off the floor, this will be subject to change to meet the needs of the service Please note that employment will be subject to excellent references and an enhanced DBS disclosure being obtained.
