Overview
Advanced Resourcing is currently representing our client in Dudley who are looking for a Welding Supervisor to join their growing team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and schedule a team of fabricators and welders on the shop floor
* Perform TIG/MIG and structural welding (steel/plate, sub-assemblies) as required
* Read and interpret fabrication drawings, CAD prints and welding procedures
* Ensure workmanship meets welding/quality standards and maintain first‑off checks
* Monitor productivity, manage shift priorities and report progress to management
* Maintain a safe working environment; enforce COSHH, PUWER and site safety procedures
* Train apprentices and upskill team members; carry out performance reviews
* Assist with materials planning, tooling checks and basic machine setups
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven hands‑on welding background (MIG/TIG; structural welding experience essential)
* Welding qualifications and certifications (e.g., CSWIP, welding certificates, or equivalent)
* Experience supervising or leading a production/team environment in sheet metal fabrication
* Strong ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols
* Good communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
* CSCS card or willingness to obtain; valid right to work in the UK
Desirable
* Experience with plasma/laser cutting, press brakes and CNC fold programming
* Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001) and welding procedure specifications (WPS)
